Abel Chungu Musuka Pays Tribute to His Late Father with Heartfelt Song “Nakupeza”
Renowned Zambian artist Abel Chungu Musuka is closing 2024 on a deeply emotional note with his latest single, “Nakupeza.” The song is a heartfelt dedication to his late father, Ambassador Otema Sy Musuka, who passed away on November 22, 2009.
Taking to social media, Abel shared the inspiration behind the song:
“This is a memoir of my late father, Ambassador Otema Sy Musuka. My heart goes out to everyone who has lost their fathers. I remember sitting outside with my dad as he shared adventurous stories from his life. We laughed so much. I asked him to write a book about his life, but he replied that he couldn’t because he wouldn’t see the end of it.”
Sadly, Ambassador Musuka’s life ended before the book could be written. However, Abel, known for his lyrical storytelling, channeled his father’s legacy into this touching song. “Even though he never wrote that book, I have used my gift of writing to preserve his story in song,” Abel added.
Nakupeza is not just a tribute to his father but a source of solace for anyone mourning the loss of a parent. This deeply personal release highlights Abel Chungu’s ability to transform grief into art, resonating with fans across the globe.
